After losing out in six games to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the second round of the AJHL playoffs last year. The Pontiacs will make another attempt for their first AJHL championship in Franchise history starting tonight.

The Pontiacs enter the season with a lot of new faces along with some familiar ones too. After last season the Pontiacs lost seven veteran players due to player commitments. The Pontiacs kick off the regular season against a strong Grand Prairie Storm team who lost last year to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the 3rd round of the Playoffs.

The Pontiacs will hit the ice with ten veteran players and will look for offense from Shawn bates who lead all rookie Pontiacs in scoring last season and the Pontiacs will look to all-star defencemen Steven Seigo to shut down the opposing teams top snipers.

Pre- game festivities will kick off at 6:00PM with the Pontiacs Tailgate Party, to be held in the Centennial Centre Hub. Get your tickets early and come down for a free hotdog and pop courtesy of the Pontiacs, Hamels Meats, and Sobeys.
